New daily (BMW content)

So after having the mk8 fiesta st for nearly 5 years I needed a 5dr and have been looking for a nice M140i for a while, wanting an approved used one direct from bmw and most importantly a manual. I also wanted a really high spec car so basically a needle in a haystack. Eventually I saw one, 5 and half hours away in Lincoln at soper bmw. A px deal was done and I picked it up last Monday. Loving it so far, incredible engine and power and really refined. Spec off top of my head

M Perf > Remus, you've got an OEM exhaust and works flawlessly with the car and you can be 'quiet' or loud. The remus will be just loud. Believe me, it's worth the extra cost.

i believe the m performance doesnt have the valve, where as the remus does. remus sounds better from watching vids on youtube however i have seen a fairly priced second hand m performance once for sale which im tempted by and kind of like the idea of keeping it standardish with an approved bmw part so wont affect warranty. could always get a res delete down the line if the m performance was too quiet. also heard with the manual cars and m performance it may give a drone on mway use due to no valve which wouldnt be ideal. total minefield.

A bit of me still misses mine (135) such a good car for a daily if you don't need loads of space, looks like a great spec, i really wanted Red leather in mine but had to compromise, great purchase mate.

I thought the M Performance exhaust still had the valve? cheaper option, find a guy on FB called Bob Williams, he does service exchanged modded back boxes, which basically turns your std box into an M performance box but at half the cost.

There's two different M Performance exhausts, one is just a back box and it's valved and the other is like mine and is Cat back. The rear box is embossed on the full system and the other one is just printed (looks s**t).

The full system comes with a remap too, takes it from 326 to 355 (book figures).

With the valve is indeed part of the MPPSK (m performance power and sound kit) , for the one series it's just the MPE (m performance exhaust), a backbox without a valve. Had one on mine and sounded great 👍

Looks lovely that mate. I've been seriously considering one of late, some of the manuals can be had for £12.5-15kish privately which is verging on serious value IMO!

Got a message from a guy local on the m140i owners club saying he had an exhaust for sale, brand new never fitted and saved myself nearly £500 off retail price. Remus with the carbon tips. 😎
