New Engine Mounts...

my mate thinks hes in need of new engine mounts because when he puls away the engine moves and gearstick moves and makes a noise , What kinda price are we lookin at for new mounts to be fitted , and which ones shud be fitted all of them inc gearbox mounts ??

how much do they move and what sort of noise.........cause in general, and engine does all three of them.

well it doesnt move very much just u can feel it slightly moving and the gearstick slightly moves a little when u change in low gears specially from stationary , and u hear a little squeaking noise mate when u pull away or change in low gears..

Does it sound like engine mounts , need to know bcos hes gonna take it to the garage asap and get it sorted and wants to know what kinda price its gonna cost..like is it a long job do they have to take the engine out ? lol sorry im a noob..

GET UNDER THE BONNET AND GIVE THE ENGINE A GOOD HARD SHOVE.....I THINK YOULL KNOW IF THERE KNACKERED....ANYTHING MORE THAN A FEW MMS MOVEMENT AND THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED

ok mate i noticed when i changed the oil on this car i moved the sump and the engine moved a little lol !

well i pushed on the sump...when i was un doing the sump plug it moved a little..

no engien removal required and anythign up to 2 inches back and forth movement is about normal with hard driving on the stick.

The squeaks more than likely the downpipe to manifold join.

Mounts are about 30 - 40 quid from renault half that at factors etc.
