New Home Theatre 5.1

  Tesla MP3 2021
Im looking to upgrade my home audio to go with our current 47" LCD, Media Player and Blu-ray player.

I have decided to go for a Onkyo TXSR50 for the AV Receiver but its the speakers I cant decide on.

This is the Onyko btw...

What do you recommend as a 5.1 speaker package.

Budget ideally £250 max.

Idea's so far (nothing floor standing btw)...

Yeah I will post up on AV Forums, though there is a very similar thread with no response.

Thanks Anyway.

I had the predecessor to the Tannoy system (the FX 5.1) and it was OK. The tiny satellite speakers obviously depend on the sub quite a bit for lower mid sound and a sub at that price isn't really up to much. Way better with half decent bookshelf speakers all round (Tannoy F1 or Wharfedale 9.1's) and save for a better sub.

Well the new setup arrived today. In the end I went for the...

AV Receiver - Onkyo TXSR507

5.1 Speakers - Harman Kardon HKTS7b

The sub is f**king massive, the speaker is 10inches lol but the sound from the receiver and speakers combined is immense.

Apologies for the crappy pics.

I had the same speakers. They are now in the loft as I couldn't shift them when I got some new ones. Great sound though.

That was the sort of offers I was getting! Some people actually got quite arsey that I would not sell them for peanuts.

I decided that I didn't need €50 that badly and that my son would probably appreciate the whole set up when he is a bit older, although I am not sure that I will, when he cranks the volume up.
