New member looking for advice!

Hello, been browsing for a while now so thought i'd finally make a post.
I'm looking for some words of wisdom, the girlfriend has a 1.6 172 cup rep and bought a silver 172 with a blown engine so she could take from it bumpers seats and doorcards. Leaving me with whatevers left and i feel that it needs an engine and to have a new lease of life.
Any threads/guides to help me on my way and wheres best to find an engine other than ebay?
