Now, having the chance to see one in the flesh, definitely don't like it.

Why would you buy this when you can have a nice estate for less wedge?

utter gash, show me a modern wooden picket and I might muster a smile of sorts but that is horrific.

ok im gonna be mr unpopular - but i love it - particularly the back - and yes i do have 20/20 vision before you tell me to get down to specsavers! :)

Great cars, will definately be getting one when/if the Cooper s works kit is available.
They handle just as good as the R56/R53 minis and look mint.

i never knew it had 2 rear/boot doors. never knew they were out on 07reg either?

IMO it looks poo

I think it has two doors on the drivers side as well? I'm sure i've seen a picture of it with Mazda rx8 style doors just on one side?!

Scott's pics just confirmed how hideous that is. As far as BMW Minis go, the first one they brought out looks much better than these new ones. Maybe if they'd brought out some specials like clubmans before the facelift it'd have helped them a bit.

I like it because its a bit different - its not following the traditional design ethics like soo many cars do....i.e. keeping it 'safe' = guaranteed sales.

Its never going to appeal to everyone but if your after something a bit more interesting, its got to be a contender?

I reckon that in Cooper S/Works form in black would look the business!

  BMW M3
well true - but isnt thats why all our cars are boring? i.e. take medium hatchbacks - the golf, focus, peugeot 308 are incredibly similar to look at. The only 'radical' one seems to be the new civic....which i personally hate..but its nice to see a different car available from the run of the mill 'moulds'

Yeah different is good, the new mini when it first came out did very well and held its value well for a couple of years too - so they must be doing something right.

I agree about most cars being a mix of other cars to look at but find this clubman horrific!!!

PS I hate RX8's too ;)

  BMW M3
Yea im not a fan of RX8's - their just very, very fussy in every respect styling wise I think.

Its a love/hate thing with all these new models - but variety is the spice of life, and its great to see something fresh and interesting released.

Here's the XL one, supersize me - looks better too IMO.

still dont undertsand as they havnt been released yet?

and this was registered in may?

There are allways cars registered before their official release dates due to prototypes and pre-series proudction test vehicles.
I have been driving these for nearly a year and there are many on the roads now.
Notice how the badges are still covered over and there are no centre caps on the wheels due to it being a pre-series vehicle :)

they are ugly as hell but at my bmw dealership they are selling like you wouldnt believe we have had loads of orders

  BMW M3
I like it,could do some well good euro stuff with that.

you clearly have no idea.

Thats the worst Mini yet and the normal one is ugly.

Now come on! :rasp:

Hes entitled to his own views and opinions.....theres never a right or wrong answer when it comes to taste! As we all know its incredibly personal!

I remember when the escort was replaced with the Focus...most car magazines etc. were very uncertain about its looks...and now you dont give one a second glance really. I find models tend to grow on you.

The Clubman is not going to appeal to your typical estate buyer - i.e. people who buy work horses like subaru forresters etc. Its a 'statement' car...and I dont think anyone can argue that it doesnt have road presence...whether that be for the right or wrong reasons!

the green one, first pick has the mini badge on the front taped up. worst effort to disguise it

i quite like it but they shouldnt have put the silver rubbish around the back

Its not supposed to be a disguise, its because they are not released yet, all manufacturers cover thier badges until release day!

A car disguise involved lots or fake curves and completely covering the car except the lights and windows and cooling fans! You would not have thought it was a mini when we were properly disguising them!

Silver is supposed to replicate the wooden rear end of the old traveller

It's not the final uk spec version afaik.

I'm sure I read that the rear passenger "suicide" door needs to be located on the other side for our market on safety grounds.
