New Phase 1 172 exclusive owner!

  172 Exclusive No.171
Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say hello :) as i have put a deposit down on a 172 this afternoon and can't wait to pick it up!

Its Number 171 of the exclusive run and has only covered 41,000 miles! I managed to get the garage to agree to getting the cambelt done though as there was no record of it and the car needs a little bit of tlc (interior looks a bit tired but the leather seats look new, few scratches stone chips etc) but i think i may of found a bargain!

I'm looking at paying £2999? What you reckon? After 3 years of driving boring vectra's i just can't wait to enjoy driving again!

I'll become a full member the second its on the drive!

Cheers

Thanks for the replies guys!

I only started looking at clio's yesterday but i'm a sucker for special editions, the second i realised it was an exclusive i had to get it! I restored a Carlos Sainz Celica gt4 a couple of years ago and had a Rallye 306, anything thats slightly different really gets my attention!

Yeah its the one in henly with the scratches, but there not that bad, my mate's worked in bodyshops for years and he reckons he can sort them, fingers crossed.

Just had a search on the forums and the previous owner was a member here! She tried selling it for 5k last march by the looks of things, nice photo of where she hit a bollard before it got a crap repair job, i'll get it sorted out though. Looks like it needs a service too, if the garage if doing the cambelt + aux's will it just be a case of oil, plugs, filters? Any tips would be much appreciated!

The cambelt, aux and tensioners is a big job and normally costs around £750-850. If the car doesnt get it done asap it will be a ticking time bomb, the plugs, filters and oil is easy enought to do yourself/cheaply.

Have you got any pics of the Celica? always been a fan..

Wow, £750-850 is alot of cash, can't see the garage forking that out, but they said they would, i'll confirm the work is done before i hand over any more £!

I lost all my pics of the celica, it was a beauty though, i bought it with chavy wheels and crappy lowered suspension but got the original wheels refurbed, new oe suspension and a good service and it was like new! Got all my money back when i sold it too!

I'm already addicted to this forum, have to keep hiding from the mrs!

As they don't charge themseves the 4.5 labour rate it won't even be half that much for them!

Cambelt and kit only :)
