New wheel teaser pics...

My 172 is still a few weeks away from making its debut in Redline (issue 115 if anyone cares to look). But due to the nature of publishing and the amount of time it takes for magazines to catch up with the real world I've since done other things. Like fit some new alloys at the weekend...

Yes, I know they aren't Turini's and no, I dont care. I think they look awesome! :rasp: Just couldn't resist sharing some teaser pics with you lot before the photos appear on the Redline website and the mag. They are 7x16in Rota Track-R's in Bronze. Oh, and the back looks a little low compared to the front because the chintzy Exclusive alloys that came off it are stuck in the boot!

I love it's new look - much more aggressive!

Just lower it on some coilys and some colour coded MK2 side strips. Clear side repeaters and on and on it goes....

Yes, agree it needs lowering! Only had the car a month so working on things! Next stop is K-Tec...

And yes, I do work for Redline (you can see pictures of the Clio on it's old wheels at redlinemag.com). But the 'stick-on tat' thing has been old news in the magazine for ages. Trust me, the chav connotations are something we've been trying to shake off for a while are we're currently working on a new look for the mag to properly reflect our attitude to cars and car tuning. I've seen the designs and they look absolutely brilliant!!

As for the wheels, the Rota's fit nearly straight on - just needed some 2mm spacers to fit the centre caps on. Otherwise, no problems. And at under £400 for a set...

Now I just need some time to fit my F40-style bonnet vent, quad 6inch exhaust pipes, neon underlighting and install my reverse lambo doors. Should look awesome when it's resprayed in three-tone purple metallic candy flip glitter...

Oh, and any suggestions for best coilover kit that actually improve the handling? Only people I have talked to say Bilstein is good but lots are bad...

I know it's stance would looks loads better lower, but I'm only gonna do it if the ride doesn't knock all my teeth out...!

Can't remember where I saw the picture of those wheels, but I thought they were awesome! Are they going on a Clio?

If anyone has got pics of their cars that they want to see in the mag (bearing in mind that we are leaning towards performance over style these days) then feel free to send them to me!

Didn't actually buy the wheels from SWT. They came from www.toxicrides.co.uk. However, the South West Tyres boys sorted me out with the spacers and right size spigot rings. But they do have a big showroom. It's mainly glitzy pimp wheels for luxury cars, but they do have catalogues for Schmidt, Borbet and Image - all of which would look fantastic, IMO, on Clios!

Last time I was Bear Flat way was last Friday, with the Rotas in the boot, heading to that strange BHP place in bumfook nowhere in the hopes to buy spigot rings. Was hideously lost (dont live at that end of town) and they didnt have any anyway! Which is why I went to SWT...

Unless there is another Exclusive in Bath...

And don't worry, I kept the BBS wheels. Same as I did with the original wheels on my old Integra... Too many people get funny if it isn't 'OE' if I ever tried to sell it!

Glad the wheels are getting such a positive response. Pays not to be predictable sometimes!
