Hi all,

Im new here and just about to buy my first clio 172 sport.

My local renault dealer have an 02(02) 172 in silver with 40k miles, one owner from new with 17" Oz alloys, and lowered 40mm. Been told its got full service history but am awaiting proof... also waiting to see if the paperwork shows a cambelt change.

They wanted £7,200 for it with 3mths warranty... I've got them down to £6,400 with 12mth warranty all the purchase fee's etc included along with 6mths tax. Do you think this is a great deal or could I get a better example elsewhere?

Doesn't sound bad so long as it has full service and all the paperwork adds up.

Cambelt on 02 will be due this year though as it's due at 5 years regardless of mileage. Be prepared to fork out 300-400 for that at a specialist or around £600 with the c**ts at the Renault stealership (I would avoid them).

Thanks all, going to find out tomorrow about the cambelt and history. Hope its all ok as the dealer is right next door so really handy for pick-up and if anything goes wrong

Was hoping to see some good examples in the 'For Sale' section in my price range but I keep getting tempted with all the 182's!!! If anyone knows of a great 172 for sale for around £6400 then please let me know.
