Newbit owner Advice

Hello to all, within the next week i will be purchasing my 1st racing 182 cup.....

Now i have looked on the site and used the search buttom to see what the best exhaust and air filter combination you can get and there is loads!!!

A few questions i have

*At the ITG maxogen kits acutally any good
*Is a pannel filter better?
*Is the milltek or the yozza cat baxk exhaust any good

you will get mixed opinions on here mate and it all depends on how deep your pockets are, future mods and what sound you want from your car, most people have removed the acoustic valve, whether isa panel filter or and inducton kit they fit.

i cant speek from experience cos ive never owned a 1*2 but on my valvers ive always used panel filters with a larger/re located caf.
imo with exhausts its you get what you pay for so dont just go for the cheapest one.

Will am defo going somekind of filter, new inlet, decat, exhaust and a remap as be the sounds of it on here its the way forward lol

Coming form owning vts/gti's the 182 is defo something i will have to get used to !!!!!:rasp:

i have a 182 and owned it about a 6 months now, I put a bmc cda induction kit on with a decent cold air intake and remved the accustic valve, had a rolling road session and it increased power by 4horses as well as sounding nice. I would go with yozza or take a look at k-tec racings website they have some good exhausts at a really decent price!

You will also need some cold air feed ducting as the one that comes with the BMC is rubbish most people get it from here i got 2 metres

Run it from the filter to the lower bumper grill or remove a fog light is what most do,also remove the acoustic valve that bolts on with the horn,do a search on acoustic valve and it will tell you all about it and how to remove.pics of CAF location in this link

well his is modified, full suspension kit etc.. granted mine was quicker (it was a cup ) but they weren't worlds apart

Similar power so will be roughly the same 167 and 182ps,same engine as 306 gti/rallye but think the xsara has a 5 speed box?can pick them up for next to nothing now,cheap car for the power its got

yep xsara has a 5 speed box doesnt break as much as the 6 speed box
