put the viper on today, havent got the cold air feed on yet.

I find that pulling away in first is shite. Will this change if I mounted the feed to the bumper, or is this a permanent thing?

I used to struggle to hold on because of torque steer and the g's, but its not pulling as hard as the standard box.

when i first had my viper fitted to my 172 , i thought id proper f`d up cos it seemed loss of power ,

Dave, try whip your battery +'ve off overnight. This should revert you back to your base map and put your ECU into 'learn mode'. This will then allow the car to make changes to account for the the setup instantly as the transition will be more prolonged otherwise.
This is true of Vauxhalls anyway but I would presume the same for any car with an ECU.

I normally just pull the +ve connector off of the battery and leave it overnight. Not sure how you could get around the alarm issue though. It should work if you leave it for an hour or two so you could do it during the day.

You can do it when ever Dave. If you think that the air feed will help you draw alot more cold air it may be worth doing again.

I need to make sure I remember your car is fuel injected as I don't want Lunner pulling me up again LOL.
It won't do your car any harm in all honesty though it won't give any noticeable improvements if you haven't made any changes eg. induction kit (although you have recently judging by your air feed thread).
I used this trick to get my car through its MOT as it was borderline on emissions but as soon as the ECU reverted to the base map, it passed easily. Though learn mode will then have kicked in and adjusted fueling etc. to condition of engine and driving style (within reason) to give optimimum performance but will most probably have had a negative effect on emissions.
