Non standard suspension settings

The other suspension settings thread got me thinking. I have a ph1 172 fitted with 172 Cup shocks (but not the 172 Cup wheels with their different offsets) and 182 Cup springs. An alignment place checked that it's all straight, but can it be tweaked to make the turn in etc better?

What's your goal? Very quick response when you turn the wheel or grip through the corner?

'Response' can be 'tuned' with a few changes; alignment, stiffer springs and stiffer ARBs. The trouble with tuning just for response is that you limit grip into the corner. A car that has excellent grip generally doesn't have the best turn-in behavior however learning how to drive a car with this sort of set-up is the solution.

Having the alignment tweaked should help you with turn-in and if the car is 'straight' then you're going to pick up some grip by adding some camber and a touch of toe.
