Noob from Manchester

Hi guys, been lurking in the background for a bit but thought id best make a post and say hello. Currently saving up for a Clio 182 to use as some weekend fun as my mk7 fiesta zs tdci is rather dull but as a daily and with its mpg its a good money saver.

Use to have a Liquid Yellow R27 which I miss a lot but needs must at the time so it had to be sold. Only got a small budget for my 182, hoping to try and get one around £1500. High mileage isnt an issue as ill only be doing around 2k-3k per year in it anyway.

You 'might' be pushing it for a reliable one at that price - up it to around £2k and I'm sure you'll have a lot more to choose from.

Darren - Thanks mate, I know it would be a long shot so maybe £2000 may have to be the new budget, just means saving up for a bit longer. Ideally want RB or Inferno but with a low budget lol I may not have the choice ha ha

Black Gold looks amazing when clean - especially in early morning/late evening light. But it's an absolute b**ch to keep clean!

Yeah my current car is white and the mrs car is white so I have my hands full with cleaning those two lol so god help me when theres a third car to clean ha ha. Nothing a bit of snow foam cant sort out though

Bizarrely - I find the white one easier to keep clean than the black gold one!

Ditto I used to have a white golf... Everyone said it will need cleaning..

Been offered it for £1500 and to sum it up its a CAT D, belts were done 2 years ago, service history, 105,000 miles.

Good buy or not? Originally a lot higher mileage than I wanted but its the colour I want at a low price.

Thanks for that Don, I had heard of Birchdown so it looks like that's my only option although it's probably 1.5 hours from me, bit strange there isn't more Renault specialists up north considering how many there seems to be down south!

There is Steve (Birchdown) up nr. Chester...Fred (BTM) in Birmingham and Mick (Diamond Motors) in Nottingham. Danny (517) down South and a few of the other lads. They know their RS Clios and best to get cambelt done by someone who knows their way around the engine and its foibles
