North East meet - 26-02-06

Durham services at 1:30 pm today.

Nice to meet you guys finally. I'm rubbish with names so apologies if I forget quickly.

Met at Durham and had a convoy to Royal Quays, North Shields. Lost a few members en-route though. What happened guys?!

Garf and J Rock turned up late so some pics with and without their cars.

Decent turn out.

Sorry I had to shoot off early. Would have been nice to chat to the latecomers. I've run these pics off quick so apologies if they suck and if anyone wants any removing pm me asap.

What happened after we left the service station.
As soon as I pulled out a few lights came on, on my dash. I was thinking what the hells this so slowed down a little gave it a few seconds then the only light remaining was the engine management light! (Still is on now, not sure what’s up)
So I told the guy in the 1.6 to lead me up as I was having some problems… we Caught up a few miles down the road I came up behind the car with the throttle bod’s on which sounded fantastic! All was looking good expect my car felt a bit “limp” I think you guys went left and with my eyes on the dash I went strait over with the other 2 clios (red & blue one). Then we went on a mission trying to find you guys after about 30 mins or so we called it a day lol and went home!

Where did you guys go? And what did you’d get up to?

Will try to socialise more next time but was very cold

It was mental that Clio. Sounded loud as hell in the Tyne Tunnel.

Edit original post, it was Garf and Blunty turned up late (not Garf and J Rock). Didn't catch the names and just assumed Inferno Cup was J Rock as he has one according the initial "who's going" list.

Made it half way but had to do a u turn as I forgot my gf needed picking up! I will make it to the next meet. Dark blue clio with carbon bonnet looks nice, I assume thats the one with TB's? Any chance of a sound clip?

Was great to finally put names to faces, had a good chat with geordieclio and his gf plus the quick blast in the car , cheers for the comments too.

Will be good to chat to the rest of you some more next time. I've got about 30 mins of vid footage of the drive from Durham services to the Royal Quays to sort out and post up.

An airfield meet would be cool, probably costly though for the few NE members, unless we tied in with some of the Yorkshire lot?

Hey Lucky, would be great to see a video of the drive. Super gutted that I got lost in the back pack and ended up taking a wrong turn had my head fixed on the dash with worry over the Toxic light coming on.... of to Ren in the morning to let them have a look at it. Your car sounded fantastic and looked crazy fast

Sure it'll be nothing mate, you'll be covered by warranty anyway are you? I'm having bother compressing the video footage, 2 mins is nearly 30Mb :S

That's pretty cool. At least it should get sorted alright. Beauty of a warranty really. I've got til November on mine.

I got flaming rear ended by a woman today at a junction. The screw on her number plate his imprinted itself into my bumper. P****d off. I went to pull away but had to stop, she went into back of me. Thing is what do you do? It was busy and I feklt stupid holding the road up. Am I meant to ask her for a whole new bumper or, mug that I am, just say oh it doesn't matter. It's not that bad and I can touch it up but the car's me pride n joy. Proper peeved coz though it's hard to see, I know it's there.

Too late now. It was my first collision of any sort and I just wasn't thinking straight. I should have got her to follow me around the corner and had a good look.

She was a middle aged woman in a Zafira. She was like, "I didn't hear anything.." She said that twice. WTF? Hear anything? My whole car shook.
Sure it's not the biggest mark and will touch up and be hard to spot but the car's my pride and joy. I just got the feeling she was like... it's only a little Clio and the mark's small. Dumb bint.
