Not sure of engine number (172Cup)

Hi,

Attempting to locate my engine number.

Have searched on here and have picked up on suggestion that it's down by the oil filter.

Have had a look and can see a long number etched into the block by the dipstick tube - it doesn't tally with the engine number in the documentation though. Can see another etching running vertically which is underneath the aformentioned one and to the right. It's inelligible though, due to corrosion.

Can anyone confirm that one of these is the engine number - or am I looking in the wrong place?

i've had a look in the manual and know where it should be now - the lower of the two etchings mentioned above

manual says that it should be on a plate though - there's no plate; just what appears to be a rusty etching - can anyone tell me if this is this as it should be, or am i missing a plate?
