Nurburgring visit - need help!

I’ve booked to goto Frankfurt with a day at Nurburgring in March.

I’m flying to Frankfurt. I’m just struggling to make sense of it all.

Has anyone done this sort of trip? Ideally I’d love to do a ring taxi but the fees are eye watering, same with a couple laps in a rental.

Anyone with any knowledge to pass on? Can

It’s quite simple.

You go, buy a lap, and drive.

Obviously you not having a car complicates things so you would have to rent. Renting a car from the airport isn’t advisable, as the companies are keen on checking through photos.

Taxi laps are expensive yes. But what’s the alternative? Your only option really is to split the costs with mates.

I wouldn’t take a standard rental on track. I’m not a complete t**t😂.

I’d most likely rent a standard car to drive to the ring then a specialist rental or a ring taxi. Just seems so many companies out there. I’m going on a Friday and it looks like track time is only 5pm-630pm. Does that mean nothing moves on track other than those times? Can you still wander about otherwise?

There is plenty to do. Museum, visitor centre, nip into Adenau for some lunch etc. Can wander around the circuit as much as you like, and as noted above, it’s likely something will be going around - just not touristfahrten.

By the way, how track experienced are you? I wouldn’t be doing the ‘Ring on the Friday session in a hired track rental unfamiliar to you.

That session is pretty busy, especially if it’s good weather. People who have trailered stuff up for the weekend getting sighting laps / set up laps in coupled to lots of locals on way home from work wanting to start the weekend with a run. 😂

Don’t get me wrong I’d rather do the ring taxi for sure purely from a fear perspective if something went wrong on track.

I want to take the other half on the track with me and the ring taxi costs the same amount again just to have someone ride along which is annoying

Ring taxi is per car not per passenger.

Depending on what you want to go round in, you can get a taxi lap for under 200 quid

Are you sure? I had a look at the m3 and it had ‘per ticket’ which looks to be per person
The M3 or other performance salon car have the price per car. So if you and 2 mates book it, you pay the €350, or how much it is.

With a 911, M2, Merc, is not the same thing, as those are taking only 1 passenger at a time.

Done it multiple times mate. Some companies may be different, but I've only ever seen it priced per car when there.

We did the Genesis G60 or whatever it is last year, was 190 euro a lap if I remember right. Two of us in the car
