odd smell ? and a noise

basically a few days ago my car developed an odd squeeky noise, i dont really know how to describe it, sounds like a belt rubbing or something ? any ideas what that might be

also this evening i kept getting funny smells, a mixture of burning and egg. thought it might be the Cat but it comes and goes and i cant smell anything around the cat or the exhaust, any ideas on that ?

have you checked your auxillary drive belt? they tend to squeel when worn. and i would put my bets on that smell being your cat. they have a eggy smell when they go.

thats the cheap belt on show at the bottom left of the engine bay right?

yeah i thought it might be :/ cant really be arsed with that going to be honest. i take it the scrappy would be the best bet for a new one ?

yeah sure is mate. and to be honest im not really sure. better of waiting for someone else on here to write up. just state what car its for and maybe some one will have a spare. try the wanted section aswell

as for the belt, know a good place for them ?

i got my aux belt of ebay. think it was about £8 delivered but mine was for a 1.2 so maybe more depending on engine size
