You can buy a just ball joint but just buy the whole arm and joint £60ish.
I have a ball joint for sale.
£8 quid and it will be on your door step by the morning.
Sam
Yep, it just won't fit a mk2 ph1 RS.
They are about 3inches tall and 3 inches wide. Basically two rectangular, rounded plates that sit eihter side of a rubber gaitor covering a ball and socket joint.
4 bolts IIRC, 30min job.
Sam
Well if the ball joint is buggered, as you say in post 1, then of course this brand new joint will sort it...?
I can't PM you for some reason, have you got an email addy or MSN I can send you payment details too?
It is seriously easy to fit. If you can get a wheel off and undo 4 bolts then you can do it.
Sam
Is their any benefit to buying just the ball-joint over the whole arm? I was quoted about £115 for the lower arm and fitting it - does this sound about right?
Where is the best place to buy one from?
http://www.germes-online.com/direct/dbimage/50290587/Ball_Joint.jpgExcuse my ignorence but what exactly does a ball joint look like? Are they relatively easy to fit?
How easy it it to fit? I'm not mechanically minded. How much would (on average) it cost to get done at a garage?
Thats a bit ooverestimate if there stuck solid as they cna be then it can be a pain cna need to take the whole darn hub off and work it in a vice.It is seriously easy to fit. If you can get a wheel off and undo 4 bolts then you can do it.
The RS ones are different than none RS ones.Just looked further into it.
I don't think it will fit the RS models.
Try and find out and if so it will be here for you.
