Off to Spain for 6 months.

  200
As some know I have been learning Spanish for about 5-6 months.
I have now decided to go to spain for 6 months to Study Spanish in Salamanca.
I was going to sell the love of my life in march when i go however I dont want to sell it, i love it too much. I am now going to take it with me, i know i get 3 months free insurance with elephant (whom Im with) however i was wondering if they would cover me for 6 months or if i need to insure it with a Spanish company.

Distance wise its 400 miles driving as im an hour from the coast and and then i would get a boat to Santander which is about 300 miles north of Salamanca so thats cool.

Has anyone else spent much time in their cars in europe?

Spanish roads are generally poor, the drivers are worse. Yours is a desirable spec, and colour, I imagine you'd lose very little if you sold now and bought another on your return.

I know it sounds sad but its been a crap couple of years and its been the only thing to keep me sane, its fruity i know but its more then just a car however, Salamanca is a town with cobbled streets etc and you may have a point.

Car will most likely come back covered in dings, and in poorer condition than now. Or you flog it, and order a new one in the uk before you get back, and come back to a mint new car.

The spanish make some of the best roads i've ever driven...Folks stay out there...IMO they should come back to the UK and give our boys a lesson!!

I'd sell yours...iyou can always buy another??!

Put the car in storage for 6months?

I can see it dropping a massive amount. I know it would drop anyway but i would be using it making the most of it.
Where we have a place near Alicante, the roads are fab but Salamanca is a Historic town with Historic streets...

Gale wanna come with me?

then just take it with you. You sound like u dont want to let go of your car so rather than have it sitting in the UK, make use of it

I would take it, it's a cracking car and will obviously be a head turner over there aswell.

This, especially in the south of spain, they really just dont care, when you see their attitude to parking you will just worry if you leave your car on the street anywhere.

So back to the topic of insurance guys, has anyone done a similar thing?

ring your insurance up and see if your still covered as you will have to change your address whilst your in spain at a guess

if your covered why change?
