well whatever 7% off the list price before VAT is to be exact. i think its around that price...
Also got offered £8000 for my 26000 mile 182 FF in racing blue with cup packs. The £8000 offer for was a change over to a 197 late september so not a bad trade in value imo. The condition was i kept the 182 under 30000 miles.
I reckon i will wait till Dec/Jan time to make my mind up as prices should drop further and hopefully Renault will up the spec a bit... you can always live in hope!
What are the best prices people have found/got so far?
Went out for a proper drive in the 197 aswell. Car was a bit tight as it had only done 350 miles but they said i could redline it so obviously i did.
Simply sumarised
gearbox - muchos improved.
seating position - a million times better.
engine - felt tight but i prefer it without the 5k kick. Felt just as quick as the 182 to me tbh.
handling - felt f**king superb to me.
brakes - immense. a lot better than the 182
I think the 197 has evolved on form the 182 in a good way and has taken away the crudeness and harshness of the 182. If you drive it sedately it is a very comfy place to be. If you want to thrash the nuts off it it came alive!
It won't be to everyones tastes as many people prefer the mk1 to the mk2 clio for example.
However for me, it feels a million times better than the 182. Getting back into the 182 made me see how bad the gearchange really is and the awful driving position.
The 182 is a real twitchy car that communicates really well to you on the road. It is a great country road blast. But i think sometimes you want for something a bit more refined that still can be thrashed.
197 - an awesome car imo.
No doubt people are getting fucked off with the 197 threads but i thought i would stick my 2pence in anyhow... might make people decide whether they fancy a terst drive or not!
