People do camp on cod but there are others that don't so you can avoid certain areas if you want.
An example from bc2 after a couple of weeks of being out. I look around for a few minutes and don't see or hear any shots I then get sniped to which there is no kill cam so don't know where it comes from so before I spawn I look around to see where every1 is and not 1 movement, every1 doing the same thing and camping on stupidly big maps.
What kind of supposedly fun game is that? If you want a whole war game then don't buy cod, it doesn't claim to be 1 and never has. What it does do is try to create a whole package for people like you who like to sit in 1 place (skilfully) waiting for some1 to walk past but then don't blame people when they get sick of you doing that so just noob tube ya in your little camping spot.
People who complain about camping just want a free flowing skilful game, people who complain about running and gunning are the people who arnt very good at the game so they camp. Simples.
Sorry? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the previous two COD games have "Warfare" in the title? I didn't see either called
Call of Duty : Modern Dishwashing or
Call of Duty : Modern Mountain-Biking 2. I would hazard a guess that it was at least trying to reflect some type of war environment. Ooops. I forgot
Call of Duty : World at War as well. Nope, definitely no war connotations there either.
You're complaining of the lack of kill-cam? And yet you're still saying that run & gun in a 100yards square map takes more skill? :S When half of your team is constantly under fire from Point A on a map, some 300 yards distant and none of you know exactly where that fire is coming -
that takes skill to circumvent. That's why a lot of BC2 players on here (myself included) much prefer the Hardcore Mode. When you come out on top on a Hardcore game - that is massively down to the skill of your playing abilities and/or the inabilities of your opposition to stop you.
If you check my stats, I'm much more of an engineer than any other class. Equipped with UMP-45 and an RPG-7 - I'm hardly kitted out for standing in a darkened corner picking off people from range, am I? The fact is, BC2 is massively more cerebral and challenging that COD will ever be. To do well in BC2 takes several components of map knowledge, (ideally team players) a sprinkling of unlocks and comprehension of what's needed to achieve results. With COD, detach common sense (leave that at the door) equip a selection of perks and unlocks on par with a T-1000, ignore the rest of your team and go on a one-man spray and prey quest. Yep, that sounds like fun. In fact, wasn't I doing the same as that with Quake 3 over a decade ago? *yawn*
