Oil and cv boot

Good morning. Changed the oil yesterday and i usually always use valvoline 5w40 but my local motor factors and other shops had none, best they could do was shell helix 5w40 or valvo 5w50 racing so i went for the shell as it was a 5w40. Done a search after and read up on the fact its a hydrocracked oil and all that . So for everyday road work and the odd track visit will it be ok after the valvo. Also whilst changing the oil noticed a lot of grease on the inside of the wheel the cv boot is intact but the clip has come away meaning grease everywhere. Should i strip it all down and re pack the joint or is there a quick fix to get some grease in there and put a new clip on.

Repack it , clean it up and stick a jubilee clip on . Its a common problem , the clips are weak and they snap . Your the 3rd person to post this problem in the past couple of days .
