Oil Leak - 1.4 8v S

My brother has a Clio 1.4 8v Sport, W plate.

It's leaking oil and it's goin onto the CAT and buring.

I have looked at it, the oil filter was loose at first and I thought that

was the problem. Also tightened the sump plug.

Still leaked.

So i gave it a full service changin both filter and sump plug.

Still leaks.

I can't see any where on the engine where there is an visable oil leak.

Any clues ?

Head gasket went on mine and absolutly stunk! but then that was visable on the engine obviously and dripping onto the exhaust.

When you did the oil change did you cn=hange the washer on the nut? HAving said that if it was there it wouldnt leak onto the exhaust.

changed both nut and washer.

i cant work it out.

On my Mk1 1.4 I was getting a similar sort of thing due to a leak at the rocker gasket. There was quite a bit of oil around the rocker cover and some in the spark plug wells. I just changed the gasket and I've not had it leak since.
