oil leak 172

hi i have a clio 172 o2 reg and every now and again i get a smell of burning oil ,ive checked the exhaust manifold and it seems to be coming from that area,may be rocker cover ,is this a common fault. is it a gasket or just sealer and is it a big job to put right
any advice thanks

oil way bearing between the cams, common problem.
oil runs down the back of the engine hence the smell.
or the other thing it could be is cam cover leaking.
both big jobs.
