Old Mans Project- Guess the Car

  Yozz'd up 182
Not had any pictures throughout but he dropped the engine in recently.

Hasnt connected the clutch properly so gonna have to drop it out again.

Done most of it himself although the specialist bits have been expensive.

And parts have been hard to find.

Anyway lets play.

He went all red haha. few dings and the paint needs renewing but otherthan that hes pretty happy with it.

Specialist called Tuthills?(sp) helped with the awkward bits and machining of some parts.

Il try get a video when he first turns it over.

Completely standard.

He didnt want it any other way.

Would of been cheaper to buy a newer engine and plant it in. same mounts i think.

The only thing he was thinking of was swapping to the Zenith carrera carbs.

But then he saw the price.

Lol expensive i bet!!

Its how it should be, get it finished and get out and enjoy it!

Oh, the later 911's had fans with fewer fins on, to get the engine a bit hotter and they tend to run better a bit hotter, just so your Dad knows :)

How did you know that?

Easy!

Copy image location, change the last digit up and down a few times to see the other pictures in the series, find said pic, note said reg, put reg in vehicle check, find out info!

Also your name helps confirm its the same car we're all talking about! :)

Ok haha. Impressed a little.

Me and dad have the same name minus the first one, Max + Michael.

So hopefully one day the Reg will be mine haha.

Update - Could do with some help here.

The car hasnt started yet as ther gearbox has had some problems or so we thought.

Symptoms are as followed.

Would select gears ok and the clutch pedal felt asif it was working.

Wheels would turn freely when in neutral and not when in a gear.

The problem was the wheels still wouldnt turn when the clutch was pressed/open.

Dropped the engine out and checked the clutch release fork was in the right place, it was.

So now not too sure what could be causing it? Clutch stuck possibly? not really sure what else?

Any ideas?
