Just saw that on instagram. Lairy! Has a Tennessee number plate. We're these available over there then?! Must be import.

Mate had a punto 1.4t, it was rapid. Looked at getting one but went for the clio instead. Probably the better choice in the end. Not a hatch but first proper car at 21 was an old sierra sapphire 2.0i. Awesome car, rear wheel drive, was like sitting in an armchair at 100mph it was so stable. Pepperpots too. Apologies for the rubbish image couldn't find a decent one.

I owned a couple of these back in the day.
216i
220i
218 VVC
And an absolute weapon of a 220 Turbo. Used to go off the 150mph speedo no bother...

I'd have another no questions!

My mate had one of those 220 turbos exactly the same it was f**king rapid at the time, as you say 150mph in no time.

He had a body kit fitted and had it professional painted Subaru blue, fitted some massive alloys and at the time we thought it looked great, come to think of it, it looked crap!

He had by far the quickest car between us all, the next quickest was another mates R19 16v, that felt rapid for what it was.

  A special one.
My old MK2 Gti that i bought from a guy i used to work with. (this was 15 years ago)

He had owned it from new, it had done 200k but still drove great. It started life as the 1.8 8v, i bought a 2.0l 16v (9A engine code) Corrado that had been hit up the ass with 40k on the clock and fitted the engine/box into the Golf

Had to buy the MK2 Golf 1.8 16v inlet, fuel pump etc and convert the G/box to cable clutch.
I also fitted G60 discs and calipers.

@Phase1sr Are those tsw venom wheels? [emoji5] classic 90s
Cracking looking golf. Nice colour too

Clio Williams has to be one of the best looking. The kit wider than normal on that one above? It looks great though bar the slightly too large alloys.

That Golf is on TSW Hockenheims isn't it?

That Willy looks like it has a Clio Maxi replica kit on it.

Cheers @Mr Burns yes I agree about the rs2000, I have no idea why I sold it. I loved the thing, strangley fast too. Had rs7's on that fetch good money now, Gaz gold coilovers, nicest sounding exhaust ever. The car had only done 60k too

Also had this gem, I ended up ruining it by putting a rs2000 engine in it. Should of left it standard, another low mileage one and absolutely mint

This is the one I should of kept, not a mark on it, totally standard, low mileage rs2000 4x4. These are so rare now and gave it away at £1800 about 5 years ago

Now I own a £400 Clio diesel lol
That's like burning money! Can't you got rid of so many of them.

Coming from the guy that so far has sold 2 Frps just as they dissappeared off the market. Don't listen to me I'm a t**t!

Always the same though haha, sell a car years later regret it. I sold the 4x4 because I was using it daily and was drinking fuel, also wasn't very quick. But, I should of kept it. Used it as a second car, the guy that bought it shows it.

I've had loads of nice cars, they are just the ones I have pics of. So wish I could have just one of them back, sad times.

Can anyone remember a classic hatch that had the highest bhp/litre than any other n/a car at the time? It was a 1600cc, maybe a Nissan Z something? Hatch back maybe??

One of the drivers at work recently got one of those Rover 220 turbos. Pretty cool motor I have to agree sounds nice too.

I would love one of those. Must be rare now.

Good friend of mine had one of these!! It was black on Koni coil overs and 15s and it went like a stabbed rat. Upped the boost, FCD and a filter and exhaust was circa 130-140 BHP.

Unfortunately they don't stand up too well in an impact. Lost the car and he lost a leg. True story.

I'm sure there's less than 200 of them in the UK.

Brilliant thread this!!! I'm a great fan of old skool hot hatches, so here's a few of mine over the years ...
Fiesta 1.6si at 18 (was a '95 in 2000), wanted an RS1800, but they were daft to insure, so had 100bhp instead of 130bhp, epic seats
Dave106gtipic1.jpg

First 106 Gti ('99 in 2003), my 21st birthday present
P1010007.jpg

2nd 106 gti ('01 in 2004, first one got rear ended)
P4230030.jpg

306 Rallye at 22 ('99 in 2004), like a 106 gti, but with a better box, terrible turning circle and mega LOOS. Turinis FTW:
DSC00615-1.jpg

Saxo Vts at 28 (2010), like the 106 gti's this was awesome, but an old shed, which made it even better. First moneypit re: trackcar 😂
DSC02615.jpg

Sadly i was a couple of years to young to get an RS Turbo, R5 GT Turbo, 205/309 GTi etc, but a lot of my friends had them when i was 17-19!
