Audi TT 225 Quattro
i was driving round the a406 last night on my way to a friends when i felt the car kind off shudder, did'nt think much of it and carried on driving. about a minute later i felt the car start to shake abit, turned the tunes down as thay were pretty loud and i could'nt hear anything with them on, i then heard a constant kind of rubbing sound so thought of s**t ive got a puncture and pulled over, got out checked the tyres and they were all fine. i thought that was abit strange and started to drive again. i started to pick up speed a little to keep with fast moving traffic but the banging started again this time getting extremley loud with the whole car shaking. i knew something was'nt right and tried to stop again but could'nt because there was no slip road just a dual carrige way, so i dipped the clutch and costed along with the car banging like crazy. i decided to stop where i was as i did'nt fill safe, car came to a stop with an almighty crash and bang. got out again and started to have a look, then noticed the rear passanger side wheel hanging on for dear life by 1 mcguard lockin nut
. i thought wtf, how did this happen?? 2 options 1. some one has tried to nick the wheel but could'nt get the locking nut out? 2.bolts worked them self free due to having a 5mm spacer with std bolt?
anyway got stright on the phone to dad to come to my rescue with my key for the nut and a wheel brace. nice one dad. while i was waiting i had a look around and found half of my spacer, but no nuts. police also arrived and blocked road behind me so no cars or lorrys crashed in to me, thanks for once. when dad arrived limped back home on half a spacer and 3 nut in each wheel ( i need the spacer on the rear for the 17"s as they rub on the brake caliper otherwise). now got my old ph2 rims on for the min untill i order some eibach pro spacers and longer bolts this time, btw its proper rapid with the 15's on
( sorry about the essay)
