On The Road Gains From Mods

R

rich[182]

Anyone hazzard a guess on what real world difference the below would have on the road when comparing a std 182 & modded 182 v std Cooper S ?

Rolling 20 to 100

decat, cat-back, matched inlets, BMC, remap

How many car lengths would you expect to pull over the S as opposed to your previosuly std 182

dunno how many lengths a standard 182 would pull but i doubt them bits would give more than an extra car length ,it takes big power to pull away easily from another car.
in my experince of racing up santa pod it would seem you need an extra 15 ish bhp to pull 1 car length over a similar standard car over the 1/4 mile, and im not talking one car length clear ,im talking your back bumper being level with his front bumper.
Thats assuming the drivers are equally matched and both getting the best from their cars.
