What's involved in getting this all swapped over in to my 182 cup. Consists of cup alternator, power steering pump and the heater blower thing. Would consult my mechanic friend but the jammy git's gone to Rome for the week :(

I obviously know its not going to be a 10 minute job and thankfully i can do with not driving the car for a couple of weeks, so if the likes of Fred or the Burp Racing guys could shed some light that would be fantastic.

Thank you

Chris

Basically do I need to get the engine out ? What is the air con connected to, I know the heater blower is behind the scuttle panel then do the pipes run to the compressor then onto the rad, is there anything else that needs to come out or iv missed?

What's involved with the PAS line ?

Cheers fred

You dnt need to take the engine out buddy, we fitted cup setup on my bro's 172 and will be fitting a cup setup on my 182 next weekend, we take the front bumper off to give us alittle more room and easier to get the air con rad out.
Take all the old alternator off, unbolt pas, take all the mounts etc off, aux pully etc.
The pas moves from its old position, with alittle bit of help in the right direction the pas pump will move down. Bolt up the mounts, alternator, belt etc and your cooking on gas!

Cheers guy's

Yea made the mistake of venting the gas last time when we took the engine out, my mate soon came running over to stop me. Not before i spayed my self in the face with it tho, had the worst cold for about 2 weeks after !

I think its because the pure motorsport one still uses the alternator, the one i have got comes from a 172 cup (that doesn't have AC) so it uses all of the 172 cups brackets and stuff, the pure motorsport has its own brackets, and still uses the original alternator not a 172 cup one .

Don't quote me on any of that though !

Fred, whats the issue with the PAS line is it too short ?

Also the spring and the valve, are they supposed to fall out, looks like something screws into it ?
