one for the megane owners

anyone heard of problems with the front suspension, namely springs snapping (last 2 to 3 inches of the coil), the spot welded bracket on the shocker housing corroding and breaking off easily? and the top spring hat/bearing wearing quickly?

this is an 05 plate car with around 20k on it

local renault dealer say it's not something they come across, says the rear suspension has issues, but not the front usually

anybody shed any light?

Is it a standard Lux 225?

I think a couple may have reported of a snapped front spring on the early phase 1 Lux's, but only a couple though.

Mine is on 46k, 06 Plate and haven't had any problems, but it does have the Cup Chassis.

yeh they arent the strongest, they'll hold up but the eibachs on all after from cup onwards are the springs of choice.

they wont just go though, its a wear and tear/ circumstances of use that does them
