Anyone using OpenDNS having any problems lately?

I'm having bouts where pages are taking ages to open and then suddenly it's fine, then back to slow and so on.

Can't find the Pipex DNS to try those.

I'm having slowdowns loading the site and browsing the different sections of the forum every now and then. Not changed any settings on my poota either

It was OpenDNS. Found they had a forum and other UK users are experiencing the same issue.

Dug out my Pipex paperwork and found their DNS and now I'm back to normal!

how do I change it? not sure what you mean by the Pipex DNS etc, I don't like this forum being slow...

DNS = domain name servers.

When you type in an address the DNS handle the request for you. Unless you've changed anything you will be using your ISP's DNS, normally OpenDNS is faster but at the moment it's having problems for UK users so it's not worth trying, so I won't go into detail.

Pipex is my internet provider, so I have changed my DNS from OpenDNS back to Pipex's own.

This forum does appear to be running a little slow, so I don't think it's just you.

Are you using a router or router/modem?

If so, just type the address in for your device and look for the static DNS fields. Remove the old DNS and add your ISP's DNS in their place.

Don't know who you're with but usually it tells you on their website or via google.

My connection is taking ages at present. may well be due to openDNS.

Is this forum still slow for people? it's pap for me, loading pages taking years and just getting on the site taking the michael..

Its only slow for me when I get shite ping times on a certain gateway from my ISP. Normally fine after I reconnect to a differnet one.

i have shifted to OpenDNS just this evening, not noticing anything this evening... if u look on the live status there was a prob yesterday with the London servers.... might be a little aftershock fromthat???
