Optimum External Temp?

Having a massive variation of weather conditions and temperature over the last month or so had me wondering.... What (in opinion or fact) is the best external temperature for the RS engine to be running at?

Personally, I've found that at around 2 degrees, cold and crisp, (not foggy etc) seems to be when my ph1 feels at it's best.

I would say the colder the better, that is without getting ice crystals into the airbox!

Started my bike up the other day and i could see the sparkly crstals in the air getting sucked in through the nose!

Theoretically (and I've not got a masters in science) the colder the air, the denser it is so the more air gets in to the engine. That's my understanding of it anyway.

However, I'm sure there are components within a car which don't perform as well under a certain temp and I'd be really interested as useless as it is to know what temp is optimum!!
