Ordered a Trophy yesterday

  Clio Trophy 079/500

14, 300. I have seen them for cheaper but i want one now, and cant be bothered to shop about.

Sort out my insurance tomorrow, and hopefully in two weeks time, ill be charging about in one. Well not for the first 1000 miles anyway haha. But that will give me time to get used to the car and figure out how cruise control works.

I dont know the number of the car yet. Shame they havent made 700, coz 666 would have been cool.

lucky git, the next 10 days will drag!! ps not advisable to use cruise control when running in, best to alternate the revs.

  Clio Trophy 079/500

Ive made a 10 day calender, it will pop up every hour at work and at home. haha just to remind me.

Yeah i read somewhere else that its best to vary the revs. Is it also advisable not to boot it for the first 1000 miles, how long do the brakes take to bed in nicely?

Got to make a list of things i need:

new driving shoes,

new air freshner

new sunglasses

need to burn some cds (still got a tape player in my old car hahaha)

and give up smoking, there is no way ill smoke in the car, ill have to pull over if i want a fag.

That should just about cover it.

oh and some top quality car cleaning gear.

  Clio Trophy 079/500

Dont i have fag burns in everything, my car seats at the moment are full of them

What is worse though is when its not your fag burn. I used to drive this geeza to work and we both smoked. But he smoked nasty soverigns, so i was cleaning the car one day inside and out and on the back seat there was a bloody great big burn hole. In the bottom of the burn hole was a soverign butt. I wasnt amused. People who cant throw a fag out of the window it amazes me.

So believe me not a soul will be smoking in the trophy. Clean shoes only, and ill have a little rubbish bag in the back footwell. Got to try and keep this car mint.

As long as oil is up to temp (about 5 mins after coolant), boot it through all the gears within the first 50-100 miles. Should run it in nicely and allow you to get the best performance from the car. Any knowledgable dealer should tell you the same.

As for brakes, a few heavy braking sessions should be enough :)

  Full Fat 182

went in Renault Guldford/godalming yesterday and they had one in the showroom. No demo (pooh) but talked to the bloke and was told that 13.5K was not a problems if i wanted one.

Anyboday managed a cheaper price (FF not included as i have no friends)

i was promised 12k but ended up paying 12200 + deposit :( theres many others who got this deal as well but seems none are signed up to this forum, they are on the renaultsport forum though.

sorry lee but you are wrong on both counts in fact. I was interested in the current price out of interest. I ordered mine many weeks ago and not from where you think ;)

out of interest surely the f+f deal would cost more than 12400 as i would have thought they still make a bit of profit even on f+f, every other car manufacturer makes some money on their f+f deals!

its not possible you paid less mate, i am almost certain you paid more going by what i have been told by renault and things you have said in previous threads. I know i am paying bottom dollar and you could have got no better at the best so cut the bull ;)

  Mk2 Golf GTI

They look awesome in the flesh but the back seats are w**k.

Why they arent half leather/alcantara i dont know...

You actually got a Trophy yet? ;)
lee, dont tell him what you paid, he will only get jealous and claim he got it £2 cheaper than your actual price, we all know you paid bottom dollar and that toonboy has contradicted himself already after we busted him LOL.

I want a Trophy and if I could buy one as cheap as Lee I would have one.

i am shocked they aint all sold yet!!

Could it be because of the colour? You know how red is the worst colour for fading after a while and I think that it is worse these days with the water based paint used. Likewise after giving a car a good waxing, I dont think the shine lasts as long as it used to with this paint.

Posting a "target price" is quite useful, but IMO theres little point arguing about who got it cheapest (maybe Im just jealous) - we all know that if you have connections (or work for) any company you can get their stuff cheap; just a shame I work for a company who sells v big computers!

thats just it, i know exactly what renault buy them in at and i know that i paid cost + 35 pounds. The best Lee could have done is 35 pounds less but i am sure that even on f+f they make a little profit so assume he paid 12600 - 12800, That is most likely the friends and family deal.

If you know so much youll know that a brand new Trophy on F & F is less than that as I have PMd you. Theres no most likely about it. lol Ive had the car over a month, I know how much it costs to buy one.
