outside temperature sensor faulty

  2001 Renault Clio
Hello,

Recently I've noticed with this current cold weather my cars outside temperature sensor keeps ranging from 15c-20c when it's deffently a lot colder the only thing I've had changed recently is new dip bulbs fitted so in the dark my car is a lot brighter

Any ideas what it could be? I already got a 2nd hand sensor last year from a scrapped mk2 phase2 clio and I don't really want to go to renault and pay for earth for a new sensor as every one knows just how expensive renault are!

Tbf, I've just got used to mine being out. It's not as crazy as yours, but a mildly cold day can easily see -2C/-3C appearing on the dash.
It's been like that since new - and never really bothered me.

External temperature sensor on the left wing mirror. Can wire in a new one but it's much easier to buy a second hand wing mirror and swap your cap over

Mine permanently thinks it's summer and shows 30 outside, at least it's optimistic rather than showing it as being colder.

I bought a genric renault one from ebay for £7, took 15 mins to fit and works albeit a degree or two under actual.
