at this moment in time i dont wana spend to much or change disks etc...

Minted 1144 and Brembo HC discs are excellent. If you only change pads, be aware you still have greenstuff compound embeded in the disc surface, so you wont be getting the potential best from the new pads. If you change pad compound, you should always change discs

Just buying new pads probally wont make much of a difference. As said get some new disks on there too and flush the brake fluid.

no they are DS PERFORMANCE (road car series of pads)

DS2500's are the bottom end of the race pad range, best all round pad for the clio IMO

i do them for £102 delivered (they were £95, but the price has gone up :()

ok thanks wil bear this in mind

remove pads
undo the 2 x 18mm bolts holding the pad carrier to the hub
tw*t disc off with hammer

reverse process

i didnt actually know this but my dad was saying brake fluid should be changed every 2-3 years.

unless renault changed it during the service its never been changd.

  Not got a car
Greenstuff pads should be banned, They are f**king life threatening, The brake fade is like having no pads there at all. EBC need to sort this.

I nearly went across a roundabout in my last car as about 5 secs of breaking the pads just gave up.

EBC are terrible anyway. But marketing sells as you know.

Haven't really been in many Clios with different brakes but I went round the Ring with edde and he had DS2500's on and they bit very well imo.

would changing brake fluid help? car is nearly 4 years old and it aint been changed

It certainly never hurts, just grab some Dot5.1 brake/clutch fluid from Halfords, a one man bleed kit will help you greatly and they're easy to make or cheap to buy.

The fluid should be changed at 4 years. I believe 5.1 should be changed more often as it absorbs more moisture. I could be wrong on that. Either way, yeah, it should be changed at 4 years.

if yours and others green stuff is fine then maybe you drive like girls! ;)

greenstuff are the worst pads i've ever had the displeasure of owning. Took out a barely worn set and replaced with a £9 set of the cheapest pads i could find, and they were a HUGE improvement. I honestly can't think of a worse pad compound

Re: Pads - Green Stuff = s**t!

Drive across Milton keynes and tell me if you still think that. 5 roundabouts = NO brakes left

Basically they have no use at all. May as well use OEM. I never had fade on the road with them, but then I rarely push my brakes hard on the road. On track they were like bars of soap after 2 laps. Pointless 'upgrade' pad IMO.

I made the mistake of "upgrading" to Shitstuffs and HC discs....never again.

The warning bells rang when i got massive fade on the Isle Of Man last year.
Changed back to Renault OE pads for Snetterton but kept the discs and the improvement was vast.

Tell that to the armco if you ever use them on track.

Ok pad for the road, but then so are the OEM.

Watch my vid of RAF marham, did 30 mins none stop of 130-40mph stops one after the other, where fine untill towards then end, but my car was breaking to,
