Paint Damage :-(

  182 Trophy No. 223
:( Hey guys!

I'm still reasonable new here so i dunno who is the beez knees with paint work yet!

Moving on, and refraining from swearing! Some Ass H*ole took something to the paint work on my drivers side door, not deep, doest go through to the primary layer, but never the less it wasnt what i expected on my birthday this morning tbh!

Pictures below, i have been to renault and a local body repair place for quotes thus far. Anywhere else in the brighton/gatwick area worth checking out?

Cheers :)

tbh it's not overly bad, it's white paint stuck on in it the picture, but more than a t-cut job, and i wouldnt take that abrasive rubbish to it anyway!

Also gotta re-supagard the whoel door after, gr gr gr

Ouch... so it's white paint on top rather than a scratch down to the primer then?

In that case some meguairs quick clay should lift that off nicely.

Dont worry about the supagard, its nothing special, i have it on my trophy too. Just apply a good wax once its cleaned up.

As above. I shifted a similar thing from my mums scenic with clay and scratch x. Had arms like popeye by the time I'd finished mind. lol.

the meguiars will take off teh supaguard lol!!

I find it makes washing so easy, although youc ant really polish it, i just take it for a fast run so the water runs off and it look awesome!

IT may only be white paint, but underneath it's damaged it :(

My baby trophy is in pain!!

may be tempted to do it then... I'll wait and see how much Renault want first :) and for it to stop raining too!

If its just paint try and wipe it with some bodyshop panel wipe, or use some Meguiars Paint Cleaner or Scratch X. Looking at the pics I thought it was the primer showing through.

Like Nik says dont worry about the supagaurd, just get a good sealant on there after polishing.

i no you said you wouldnt use t-cut, but i had a similar problem before, someone had spilt emulsion on the road and it splashed up my car, by the time i got home had dried. used t-cut colour restorer on it and it got rid, could never tell it had been there after.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
chips away would prob charge between £60-120ish for that pending on maybe needing to do the whole door, used them twice now hence my guesswork!, work is excellent.
