used advanced search in guides..

where is the guide for painting brake callipers lol so i dont acidently ruin anything..

thanks

Its pretty fool proof, Clean them with wire wool or a brush, Then paint them.

Dont paint the discs (obviously) and try not to paint the pads under the calipers.

If you get little flecks of paint on the disc they will burn off after a braking session.

its just the front ones dont look straight forward to paint meaning theres lots of different bits of the caliper and just seems a bit confusing.

You can see ive masked the middle bit where the pads can be seen, Also dont paint the rubber bushes at the back.

Mate, just did my own recently. Big tip I can give you is paint them while they are warm as the heat will help the paint spread evenly. And of course dry that bit quicker too!! You need at least 2 coats for a good look depending on the colour you use. 3 coats would be better. Will be touching mine up with a 3rd and possibly 4th coat in the next few weeks.

What paint do ppl use? That hammerite high temp stuff?

I just bought a can of brake caliper paint in Halfrauds. Was less that 5 euro IIRC.

Oh, mine was jacked up too, on a ramp in fact as we were fitting the lowering springs. I meant to say you can use a heat gun to warm the metal of the calipers, as long as you are careful not to dwell on one spot for too long.
