Painting engine bay advise

i want to paint my engine bay as it looks old. i just wanna ask, is it safe to remove the engien rockcover, paint it and slot it back in.

also wat colour with look good on a blue 172 cup? i was thinking yellow

You cant just remove the rocker cover as it holds the cams in iirc.
