Painting headlight washer blanks

  RB Clio 182 Cup
Hi I have just bought a RB 182 Cup, the black plastic washer blanks don't look right to me and I have seen a few ppl with colour coded ones.

How difficult would it be to paint these to a good finish and match the paint well has anyone done it themselves? More importantly how the hell do you get them off, I realise it's just a bolt but how do you get access? Do you need to jack it up and go in from below or do you get in from above if you take the headlight unit out?

Cheers guys

best bet to get access is to take the bumper off, theres a guide on here its quite simple of you follow it!

and to be fair if you got a good colour match they shouldnt be to hard to spray as there a small area! ive been thinmig of doing mine but them people might think its had a respray!

I can't get in to the guides forum as I'm not a member though :(

I was wondering if I would be able to paint them using the touch up paint from renault. I know nothing about painting though would doing it any other way than spraying leave a terrible finish?

i wouldnt use your touch up pen will looks rubish, if your crap at spraying take them off and take them to a body shop they shudnt charge too much and u will get a really good finish

I've never sprayed anything in my life! Kind of fancy trying it though for the satisfaction of doing it myself. I'm more worried about getting a good paint match. I'm sure I can find a guide somewhere to show me how to spray properly.

Don't try using the touch up brush, will look awful. Bumper needs to come off to get at them.

Best thing to do would be to have a go at painting something else 1st, something you don't need! Any old bit of plastic you've got lying around. If it doesn't turn out to bad then do it yourself. If not, keep practising or get them done profesionally.

Yeah ill have a go one some other stuff, would rather learn a new skill than pay someone else to do it.

Basic theory is get them really clean, is there any point in painting them in primer first or will they be fine? Then few light coats of paint and build it up, when its dry same again with laquer and then sand them startin with something like 1200 then 1500 then 2000 paper until it's all shiny and nice lookin, is that right? Any online guides I could read?

Anyone got any recommendations for places online to get a good colour match for RB?
