Painting new cup spoiler... (advice needed)

  Meg R26 + Mk4 GTTDI
looked at the guide and seen that i should use Mixed Dry Sandpaper (P180 & P320) when preparing stuff for colourcoding. do i just use the same for a cup spoiler i have which already has paint on it? remove light and washer jet or just mask up?

if it is brand new sand it down with 400 ( use a swirling motion instead of rubbing up and down ) then prime the spoiler white is if best for blue . give the primer a quick rub down to smooth it out and to give the paint something to key to . i would remove light and washer jet because then its done properly .

if the laquers really good, you can get away with just giving it a grey scotchbrite all over, although id probably recommend wetflatting it with P800, P1000 or P1200.

if the paint aint very good, feather it back with P320 and dust primer wherever youve broken through the laquer

if u have only got 320 grade ant arent wantin to but any more it will be fine . just make sure when your painting it there arent any scratch marks . are you flatting it down and polishing it up after u laquer it ?
