Painting side bullets?

I see alot of you guys with painted side bullets with the writing a different colour from the rest of the badge.

How do you go about doing this?

im wanting to paint mines anthracite with yellow writing

yeah iv already painted my diamond.

loads of ways tbh, can either use a touch up pen in the colour you want, use a marker, mask it off n spray it up, whatever really. then laquer over all of it

so i would paint the badge first, then use a touch up pen to colour the lettering?

dont fancy masking it as it will take ages to trim lol
