Parts People want made for 172/182

  Clio 182
Hi Guys

I have recently started an automotive consultancy business. I have a job with a UK parts company designing parts for production. I am looking to go a bit more specialist with my work and while I still have the 182 I am going to mock up some parts. Is there anything that people are after that they just can not seem to find. I'm talking anything from engine bay dress up parts to chassis braces etc. The only thing I would ask is it's metal design rather than hoses and plastic mouldings.

If I can get an idea of what people would like I'm happy to start designing them and possibly give out some free prototypes for testing.

The only thing I have in production is a set of calliper mounts to adapt Brembo callipers but this is going to have to be tested by me initially due to the safety aspect.

Cheers
Nick

CS steering wheel grips that are good quality but not a ridiculous price, as it stands, there are carbon fibre ones that sit at £100 or there is the option of getting a refurbed wheel for about 150...

Seems whenever somebody has one of their grips go, the only real option is a new wheel or an uprated steering wheel.

fabricated high flow inlet (possibly too complex), strut top mounts, front and rear upper braces (all i can find but can you produce them cheaper that is the q ?)

Hi Guys

Some good suggestions. With regards to the price I have a good relationship with some suppliers so I can haggle the price to a reasonable level obviously not dirt cheap. You get what you pay for and all. Parts that should be nice and easy are.....

Top mount covers should have them mocked up in an hour or two this weekend and price should be fairly low. Ill put some images up at the weekend hopefully

Decent exhaust mounts should also not be a problem. Can people give me an idea of the kind of price range they are willing to pay as I will source the rubber bushes from the uk. (not ones that fall apart)

Engine mounts is also possible was going to start with a decent gearbox mount if people are interested

The inlet manifold if there is enough demand I will develop it and do a couple of virtual flow tests. However these are going to be slightly pricey cheaper than ITB thou.

The subframes idea is an easy one but is there anybody else that wants them (ordering a few to get a good price is key)

With regards to the gearbox casing there is no way ill get a decent price unfortunately with the time it will take and the demand.

Please keep the suggestions coming in

Cheers Nick

I've just paid £40 for a decent pair of custom adjustable exhaust mounts (made by a member on here). The only decent ones on the market at the minute are £40 each.

Hi guys

I was going to say they would be more than £15 but I could guarantee them for 18 months minimum. They will be poly bushed so should last even longer than that. Was going in around £55 - £60 a pair initially as i have seen the £80 ones but have mixed reviews as ma be a bit to rigid

Wind deflectors for the brakes should be a nice easy one will be interesting to see the price of the k-tec ones due out i would normally make my own but they look a quality bit of kit

I've seen the ones you mean and they look good for the money. I have been thinking of changing to the Audi mounts like used on the Pure Motorsport exhausts. I think you may need to mod the pegs on the back box though.

Seen in this pic, they are Audi A4 hangers iirc.

Also how about something like the alloy ktec style induction kit that someone made on this site.

Another +1 on lower 'strong' sub frames if the price is right.

Also +1 on the brake deflectors.

Hey Guys

I shall pull the seats out this weekend and have a look at the possibility for the subframes cant see any issues thou. Im looking at the brembo conversion but would people still be interested if i used callipers from a different model of car still that are cheaper to get hold of too
