  172 cup
been struggling with this issue this week as it failed the MOT, ive looked on the forums and read posts but still not sorted , I put a 3.3 resister on and the light was still on

im also unsure what to do with this as the sockets don't seem to fit together very well! the car is a 172 cup but the prev owner had the 172 half leather installed

Need someone with a CLIP system to code it out, there are other routes but i found this easiest. I took mine to Mick @ Diamond Motors.

I took my clocks out and apart and pulled the LED's off the clock PCB for my MOT today, and it worked ok! It's a bit medieval, but its free and easy.

It's really not hard, just be careful and should have it done in under 2 hours.

I wouldn't take the bulb out

For a start you will have to remove an smd from a circuit board, not just a normal plug and play bulb, and not to mention that I'm pretty sure the light must come on and go off for MOT but unsure what strict some garages are with that.

The other plugs coming from the seats are for the airbags in the half leather (cups didnt have seat airbags so ignore them)

Passenger side seat, you need to connect two wires together for the seat pretensioner. Also check the side airbag sensor wiring is ok and plugged in (little square box on the sill under the seat.)

Drivers side 6 wires. Two for seat position sensor, two for pretensioner like the passenger side, and two for the seat belt not fastened warning. Again check the side impact sensor wiring and plug.

Assuming the wiring hasnt been chopped to bits, make sure they are all connected up and ignore the other airbag plugs coming from the seat. Its the plugs you've put the resistor in your looking to wire properly

If its a cup the air bag ecu will not have seats coded in as the std ones dont have air bags. The fault lies else where

  dan's cast offs.
Pull the radishes* out and get it plugged in with clip and see what faults it brings up and take it from there.

If you want to do it the lazy way pop cover off the dash and stick a bit of black tape over the light as it doesn't have to work for an mot. If it doesn't work it's pass and advise.

* should of been resistors but predictive brought up radishes and it looked funny so I left it in.
