[PC] GT Legends cars on Race '07

I so love the modders of the PC community at times! :approve:

One of the German fans with the assistance of other GTL & Race'07 players has managed to combine the best of both - taking the cars from the earlier game and transplanting them for us to drive in Race'07.

Naturally this makes the likes of the Escort RS2000, Shelby Cobra and others available for blats out on the Nordschleife..... :)

....or being caught up at Brands at the wheel of a BMW CSL...

...I've added a few car selections available as well, though this is by no means all of them. The little Alpine A110 is a right tail-happy git, but is so easy to catch and correct with the modest power on tap. Not much fun when you're getting easily out-dragged on the straights with 'Vettes and Mustangs though! :)

The link for this mod is here...

http://www.mojo66.de/pageID_7024670.html

It's 345MB in size and simply needs extrating to your Race'07 folder on your PC - probably located here....

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\***-your Steam account name-***\race 07

Well worth it - especially as it's free!

Things like this always remind me just how much better PC's always will be for gaming. If only the playstation generation could see it.

Heheh! You're not wrong there! My nephew swears by his clapped-out old PC that barely has enough umph to run GTR Evo, but plugs in his G25 and sticks with it anyway. All the while, his array of consoles including Wii's and a PS3 sit on the shelf gathering dust.....

Hopefully at some point in the near future, I'll get the nod off his parents to kit out a new PC for him, with an i7 and GTX295 onboard. I think he'll be obssessed by then!

Is this any good? Have just bought GTR EVO and RACE 07 package!

Have you got a G25 to go with it as well, m8? The GT Legends cars are great alternative add-ons. You simply can't throw them about like the standard Race'07 motors. :)

There's also a mod to port across all the GTR2 cars (inc. Porsche GT2, Ferrari 575, Lambo, etc) into Race'07 - but I think that's a bit more involved. I'll still give it a go, though. :)

All of a sudden I'm interested in my Race07 again :)

Welcome back!

You git. As per bloody usual! :rasp:

That car is awesome though - one of the few I've got to hold quite often on a long drift, usually in 2nd - if if the margin for it to spin around is very narrow.

Quite surprised by the Pantera too. Epic on the straights (compared to other cars in the class) but you really have to tread carefully in the bends.

You'll have to send my the ghost lap file of that Abarth - give me something to aim for!

Finally arrived today! Bloody postal strikes!

Will have to see how my laptop handles it, will lookf orward to messing with the settings tommorow!

Have you come across any decent sound mods, m8? A lot of the standard car ones sound a little 'weak' imo. The Merc 300SL and the little Abarth do sound good though.

D.

i dont usually bother with the sounds tbh as i normally got backround music playing :)
if you find a decent suzuki liana model we should set up a top gear time board :rasp:

i just downloaded this and cant find the cars :S any ideas? ive installed the offline version

Did you copy the cars across to GTR Evo - becuase if you did, they won't work. They only appear in Race'07 and you have to copy them to that directory. My directory is as follows:-

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\unzen\race 07

Though obviously you'd change the 'unzen' part to whatever your Steam account name is.

Fired up the laptop at 10.30am and was playing by 2pm PC gaming ftw! ;)

Was a combination of Vista updates, anti virus updates and then a lengthy intsall followed by having to download RACE07 from STEAM!!

Have to say it was worth the wait! Wow what a game, sound effects are immense! The mechnaical noises in the engine when you let off the gas and on the overun are awesome!

Physics - well lets just say fuel slosh is lost on me ;) But its easily the match of Forza if not better! The amount of options to play with is mind blowing.

Took out a Seat Leon, BMW open wheeler and a mini race car! Weather effects are nice, managed maximum graphics at between 60-100FPS too dropping somewhat in heavy rain and 24 cars on screen mind! But it doesn't seem to be the most demanding game for hardware?? loved the raindrops chasing up the screen at speed too!

Wait until you start adding the graphics mods. :)

There are edited files for the rain effect, wiper effect, headlights, backfire flames, helmet views, etc. All down to the PC modders.... again! :approve:

Have you added the GTL cars yet, m8?

As above!

Would love the GTL cars but no idea how to :(

M8 - read the end of my first post on this thread. ;)

Just had a go with the GT40 - proper hero car. Will powerslide under acceleration even in third. Absolutely loving the low-slung Porsche 906. Takes a bit of getting used to, but SO worth it.

I still can't four-wheel drift anything as good as the little Abarth though. Build up the speed in third, pick second and give it a hard flick into the corner - power all the way for a perfect drift.

Nearly caught Jason's time too!

...just got to find that extra half a second now. :)
