PC help !!!

iam looking at pcing my mums car the swirls are quite bad (dark purple).
would this process be ok ??

1 poorboys ssr2.5 yellow sfx pad
2 Menzerna Final Finish white sfx pad.
3 follwed by a wax p21s or simular.

Yep. I dont use poorboys, but for harsh swirl removal i use menzerna Intensive Polish on a yellow pad, then followed by Final Finish with the white pad. I then egp the car, and topped off with a wax, petes 53 on my car. Will give good results

First use. Get a wee bit of quick detail to prime the pad as it will be dry. Then a squirt of polish across the pad will suffice. Before turning the machine on, dab the pad across the panel to spred it out a wee bit, but if say doing a bonnet maybe split it into 1/4 at a time. Then with the pad on the panel!!! (important) start it on a speed of 3 or so, and work the polish around thats just been dabbed on. Then wack it up to 5-6 applying a bit of pressure untill the motor bogs down a wee bit.(make sure the pad is moving, i put a mark with a pen on the backing pad) Move the PC round a few inches a second (not too fast) and work in the product. Some polishes need around 10 or so passes before the product has been broken down. Remove excess with a mirco fibre and inspect the panel. Repeat process Its pretty hard work, and time consuming, but worth it I'll dig you out a link, give me a min

Pretty much what Gaz says, although I tend to spread the polish on speed 1 to ensure total coverage and then only go up to about speed 4 or 5 max. 6 would shake my arm off I think!

if my car has only minor swirls very faint can i just go stright in with
Menzerna Final Finish white sfx pad
then a seal/wax !!

Seeing as Brazo has just done your car Final Finish on a polishing pad should be fine!

The process you list for your mums car sounds like what you will need on any real amount of swirling, though I tend to use Menz Intensive Polish rather then the SSR 2.5 these days.

Re. Speed 6 on the PC I use this all the time to break down polished properly for a good few passes.

cheers rich, no swirls on my car yet lol. just for future reference lol.
just spent a whole load of money on cleaning stuff, including zymol titiumium (spl)
pc and pads 6 " 4 " and some menz polish way to much lol

Not a bad process at all...Although next time try the edge pads, (Orange) and jeff's acrylic sealant...

Pete's is great esp on darker colours!
