PC stalls at windows start up floatey flag stage

Having a problem with my PC, running windows 7 Ultimate, it just stops when the 4 coloured floatey flag thing comes on screen. It will do this 8-10 times, I have to restart it each time, than without any chages being made it wil start as normal!!!!!!
Any idea's

Have you put any new hardware in? As new hardware can make a machine struggle. Try hitting f8 just after post screen and see if you can get it on in safe mode...
