Took my car to visit L200 Steve off Detailing World today for a PC and a Detail.

Was an excellent day and he REALLY knows his stuff! Very pleased with the results :D

I can vouch for Steve. He is 'the detailer', really nice guy knows exactly what he is doing and produces stunning results time after time.

Al, you Clio looks fooking amazing, now you are just going to be paranoid about even washing her. :D

I've got my sonax, two buckets, lambswool washmitts, QD spray, water magnet and a million MF's!! :cool:
 
Impressive results. On his website there's a description of a restoration on an old Cavalier GSI. Absolutely quality.

You just wouldn't believe it was the same car. It's got to be worth taking it somewhere like that before selling a car, would seriously increase the price I reckon. Do you think those paint restorations would make stone chips really noticeable?
 
The stonechips on mine are about the same, not really made a difference to them.
 
I would consider it but only when I'm going to flog the car, it'll just get screwed up again otherwise! Plus you could argue that restored paint is actually worse then unrestored paint because it has a thinner layer of clearcoat, albeit a more even layer so better reflection.

If you wash it properly it won't get screwed up.

The PC'ing on mine only removed about 3microns, which considering the total paint thickness (including clearcoat) was about 100 to start with isn't much.
 
In my experience it's pretty hard to completely avoid swirls. I tried wash mitts but they still leave marks so I now use a soft brush and the 2 bucket method. My reasoning is that with a brush you can't apply too much pressure because the bristles just bend. Plus down here in Kent you can't use a hose or spray gun (drought) so rinsing becomes more difficult

The other thing is if it's too nice it makes you reluctant to drive it in case it gets dirty!
 
He used a foam gun to start with to help remove dirt attached to the car, then rinsed and went onto the two bucket method.
 
It doesn't look like that anymore! :( lol

It's covered in sandy rain shite and flies!! :S

Good wash tomorrow will fetch it up tho :D
