Well been meaning to do it for a bit and finally got round to it!

Used my Sonus stuff, ranging between the 3 pads and polishes to give it a good finish. Then finished off with megs carnuba wax by hand.

Managed to get rid of a huge amount of marks and scratches, but like a tit i never did any before photos! But I got quite a few others! Some WIP ones first:

I think it looks spot on!

If anyone is wondering the splitter is from a Pug 207 I think, about £17 brand new and looks nice on it. Nice and flexible too so no breakages!

If anyone is interested in having theirs PC'd drop me a pm, I don;t charge the earth!

Good job! Gaz pc'd his sister's yaris today, i assisted with the manual polishing as i was pissing about doing other things! Came up really well!!

Out of interest, what do you charge?? we charged £100 to do a bmw 1 series and it wasn't enough imo! took us over a day to get it mint!

Well for him mates rates, but doing a similar job, i.e going over the whole car twice and waxing by hand I'd charge around £70. Depending on how bad the paint is in etc.

how long did it take you ?

looks nice.

Cheers, took me about 5-6 hours, but i did give my car a quick wash in between and didnt rush it.

Top work matey...

Silver is so hard to get a good result on..

Thanks, I think it has come up really well :D

Not being picky, the title says 172...but that looks like a 182 to me :D

Haha, the title is right!

Its got:

Cup spolier
182 wheels
182 rear bumper and replica exhaust
matched inlets and polished engine
k&n typhoon induction kit
lowered on springs but i don;t know which ones.

think that's all!

He bought it like that so not done anything else to it!
I think it looks spot on, a true CS car to be honest!

Looks a good job on it. In the pics the front wings look a totally different shade though, is it just the pics ? (I realise they are plastic wings btw)

Erm, not as bad as the pics show to be honest but most silver clios i've seen seem to have a bit of a mismatch on the wings.

did he buy it thinking it was 182??
as said, why not just buy a proper 182!

Well price mainly, and no he didnt buy it as a 182, it was advertised as a 172, plus the fact it's an 03 so couldnt be a 182 anyways!

^ well i'm only starting off so need to start cheap!

Cheers, doesnt really show how much better it is really, there were a few scuffs on the bumper that looked shite, then they are completely gone after PC'ing them, so made a huge difference!

I'll remember to do some before and after pics of the next one i do, which should be a heavily swirled astra so will be a good comparrison.

Yeah. Put a strip of tape down a door or the bonnet, that'll show the during stage ;) My ears are ringing lol!!!

^ I did that, but never took any pics! The bonnet and wings were the worst, but they came up a treat, really impressed with myself!

Aye. Its bloody tiersome work, dont think people who dont have one realise tbh!!!!! I used some 3m stuff as needed a bit more bite than the usual Menzerna stuff. Then intensive polished, then collinites by hand. Came out well (black Yaris Tsport)

I must admit I was like that at first, wondering why people charged so much, but once you start you realise how time consuming it is.

I enjoy it though to be honest, gets me out of the house earning a bit of cash!

I think if you go out to a proper job for any less than £10 an hour its not worth it.

Its very time consuming detailing a car

I see what you're saying but at the same time it would cost a firtune to someone having it done.

I'd say theres probably £20 in materials used, so that would be £50 to cover time, which is ok for 5/6 hours.

It just keeps me busy, i get bored very easily so fills the time and gives me some extra beer money which is always good!

It also depends on what needs doing, if the car needs to be clayed too then that will add a lot as i fooking hate claying!

Sorry to ask, but what is PCing? I is not down wit' da kidz. ;)

Its all about getting very anal with polish and spending a day on your car, checking paint levels etc, etc. Then polishing a lot

In all far too much work for me,but some people are doing it as a business now and doing well

lol just seen your msg.
just looking at those pics thought it looked familiar.

PC'ing is a general term for using a powered device to buff and polish your car - similar to 'hoovering the carpet'

you could probably charge more as you get better and better matey

It stands for Porter Cable, its a random orbital polishing machine and alot of the above!

Cheers for that. :)

Didn't realise cleaning your car was so... serious!

Lol, I used to be the same, its a good and effective way of correcting swirls out of the paint, getting a good shine on there and some decent protection from the elements. Once the ground works in its alot easier to keep a car mint, one day of pain and then you can get it looking just as good as it does in the above photos after everywash. Pepsi is only in Spondon im sure he would do your Monaco.

  e60 M5 -172- dciheid
well for me, a swirled marked car just looks shite and ruins it.

so it has to be an art.

many on here and DW will spend serious coin to get the paint sorted. PC is well worth the money, especially if you hone your skills then offer a small service for people locally who want work done or on here.
