it takes ages mate to do it properly, i wouldnt even do it free for friends, but i wouldnt wanna charge em either so i jus dont do it

you have no chance of someone doing it for free, and what about all the cost of the used products, they dont come cheap, most are ~£15 a bottle

By the time you've paid someone you may as well have bought the kit. Using it more than twice will pay for itself it seems. I looked into it, and it's a lot of hours, so people needs £. Just a pain that it takes so long and the kits are a few hundred quid. If you had a mate who was kind enough to lend you the kit and you bought the products, then that may work. Then I'm sure you'd appreciate why people wanna charge.

You wont buy half the kit some of the guys who detail properly have for the cost of a detail on the car. Brazo for example has a paint thickness guage that's the other side of £250. Thats before MF's dozens of different types of polish, wax, rotary, PC lights etc... you get the picture. Getting a PC and a couple of bottles of polish doesnt make you a detailer nor return the results of someone with skill and experience. I'd pay someone personally.

i love the gaz

ill do it mate, pm me (havent had bacon in ages and hungry atm, may change my mind . . . )

Still can't believe anyone would think that somebody would do this for free. This is the second ne of this type of thread in less than a month!

Get a grip... You don't get anything for free these days, especially from a complete stranger.

Calm down matey theres no need for that.

The problem is trying to cover products, theyre expensive, and it takes a long time to do a full car, youd be suprised if youve never done it.

I think what this demonstrates that this is more of a online forum than a true club like the sort from classic mini/VW owners clubs i've come from.

I would of thought good offer would of been a persons time for free (inc lunch etc) but the owner would front the cost of products so say £40.

As i said it just shows the type of people on here and the contrast from when mini enthusiasts gladly gave up afternoons to come round mine to weld / help out with odd jobs on my old cars... and i in return would help them out....

I haven't got the kit nor the skills but good luck in your search.

Hi mate,

Give Rob at Gleammachine a call: http://www.gleammachine.net/page13.htm
I was recommended him on here... spoke to him and sounds like a top bloke.
You can see some of his work on Detailing world, do a search for gleammachine.
I'm also going to get him out to PC and remove swirls etc after i have pulled some dents out...
Any idea where you are going to get the dents done? Struggling to find somewhere at the moment!...
