petrol or diesel?

basically im going to do motor mechanics for a course. im buying a cheap car which will be a 1.9 mk1 clio, but it is a diesel. im just wondering whether diesel engines are similar to petrol ones and what are the differences other then spark/glow plugs?

Depends what you want both have there points.

Personaly I'd use the diesel the petrols in some ways simplier and diesels are mor common abeitly with different technologies but you'll get the idea.
