  182 RB FF
Only got my car last week and just filled it up with regular unleaded, i was told i should only use shell optimax really for better performance and its better for the engine. Problem being i don't think theres a shell garage close to me so just wonderd if tesco superunleaded or anything similar would do the same thing?

If anybody knows a shell garage close to cheshunt let me know!

its absolutely fine - i have been told that it doesnt actually make any difference to the car unless ur gonna have it for like 20 years or something and i doubt you will. :) think of the pennies u will save too! :)

doesn't really matter - as long as the station is fairly busy there's not much difference in any of them, except optimax cleans you internals. As fuel gets older the compounds break down, so a busy station means more fuel truck drop off's which mean newer fuel = better performance. even on the 95 octane stuff.

I generally fill mine up at Sainsburys on 97 RON, far cheaper than BP for the same stuff.

No optimax near me.

Sometimes fill up with Tescos 99 RON, but find no difference in performance (thought I would) and the car seems to drink it far quicker than 97.

I'm sure I read somewhere, that Shell guarantee it to be 98 out of the pump, where as others only give the RON ratings from the depo?

Not that I use Optimax anyway :(

I use optimax in mine all the time now, before I used the normal Unleaded. It doesn't really make a difference. I noticed the regular was not as good when the engines cold, bit lumpy (but when isn't it??).

Besides the engine is never cold for long anyway....

Normal juice is fine that optimax is just another reason for them to fleece you and charge you more, I mean if people want to waste money on it they must have more money than sense tbh

Different engines respond to different grades, wait until you have a performance car.
